Flying Home for Christmas!

Tonight I am flying back to England for Christmas and I really can’t wait to be home. I know that the airport is going to be manic and that there will be people on the plane arguing over their carry on bags which are the same size as a small country but I don’t care. I’m going home for Christmas and I get to see my family after 7 long months and that is all that matters.

I miss yule logs, Boxing Day, Christmas crackers and the bizarre festive football schedule. I don’t miss mince pies though, they can fuck off. I miss Christmas markets and random people selling mistletoe in the streets and Christmas specials of TV shows that they stopped making years ago. I even miss looking out of the window in the forlorn hope that it will stop raining for long enough to get a decent walk in.

Last year Santa visited our flight and we got free gifts. Doubt we will be that lucky again!

Needless to say it is forecast to rain for most of my trip but as that doesn’t interfere with me slouching on the sofa and eating Β chocolate biscuits I don’t care. After last winter in Boston the last thing that I want to see is any bloody snow! I’m hoping to spend some time out in my hometown though and show my wife some of my favourite local places. More than anything though I’m hoping to spend some time with my family.

I’m looking forward to seeing my hometown again.

What are you doing over the festive period? Happy holidays to all of my readers! πŸ™‚

  1. Stay safe, man.
Probably we’re not going to do anything special; just play video games in the basement or something and do a snow dance. This would be similar to a rain dance, but not really. It doesn’t feel like Christmas.
    Enjoy your holiday, yeah?

Congratulations! I am so happy for you! Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day! I’m going home too! For good! Not across an ocean or anything, but I am so happy. We’re pulling out of here Monday night. I get to see my mom!

  3. Welcome back to Blighty! It’s unseasonably warm, might even reach 18C on Christmas day. Still pretty grey and grim though. See, you can’t be British / talk to a Brit without mentioning the weather! Merry Chrimble, hope you enjoy your family time.

    1. Thank you! It’s been unseasonably warm in Boston too, has been over 14C a lot. I look forward to all the weather conversations I’m going to have! Have a great Christmas! πŸ™‚

    Now that escalated quickly.

Have a comfortable and profitable journey with free gifts! πŸ™‚
My college closes today as well for the holidays so I can sit back and watch people celebrate Christmas with those scintillating Christmas trees on the internet. πŸ˜›

Happy holidays! Do post more pictures. πŸ™‚
