We left Nantucket on Sunday and were bid farewell by a long line of contented looking seals perched precariously on the breakwater. In just a weekend, Nantucket had become one of my favourite places in America. It was months out of season so nobody was there (which helps because I hate people) the air was so fresh I took the deepest breaths I could and the beaches were clean and empty. The streets are cobbled and many of the buildings date from the 19th century. I will be back, I hope you like the photos!
The windmill is beautiful!
It really is. It’s also the oldest still functioning mill in the entire US. 🙂
Gorgeous photos! I plan to visit Nantucket in May, and I can’t wait. Happy travels! 🙂
Thanks! I can’t recommend Nantucket enough, I hope you have a great time when you go! 🙂
Thank you! I’m excited to visit the islands of New England. ☺
Love those cobbled streets! EMPTY!
So empty, we walked for 15 minutes without seeing a car at one point! 🙂
Bliss.
The angle of the last image is excellent. Love it!
Thanks, that was my favourite photo too! 🙂
Fantastic!
“which helps because I hate people”
Amen to that! 😛
Lovely photos, that street looks so picturesque.
Thanks! It really is a beautiful place. Glad you agree with me about people. 😛
What a gorgeous little place! I love how seals always look like they give absolutely no shits about anything!
They really give no shits at all, just hanging out on their rocks. 🙂
