As a British person living in the US I frequently do things that amuse my coworkers and friends and cause them to say “that’s the most British thing ever!” Here I compile a few of the most recent and ridiculous examples. Continue reading ““The Most British Thing Ever!””

Happy New Year!
It’s that time of year again, welcome to 2018 and Happy New Year to you all! I don’t do resolutions because honestly I don’t really believe in them. I have, however, come up with some things that I want to work on this year and I thought that if they were public I’d have to at least make some effort or else people would think (know) that I’m a quitter. Here they are then… Continue reading “Happy New Year!”
Why Brits Live Longer Than Americans and Other Stories
I couldn’t sleep last night and, as often happens when I can’t sleep, I ended up reading a huge succession of random web pages. Continue reading “Why Brits Live Longer Than Americans and Other Stories”

Things I Have Learned Since I Moved Across the Atlantic
Earlier in the week I posted about the things that I wish I’d learned before I moved to the US (you can find that here) and the natural next step would be to post what I have learned since moving. Moving to another country can be pretty tough and whilst I have picked up a lot of useful knowledge like Kit Kats taste differently in the US and some useless things like $2 bills are an actual thing (yes chocolate is more important than money) a lot of what I have learned has been about myself. Here is a small selection of those things in no particular order… Continue reading “Things I Have Learned Since I Moved Across the Atlantic”
Things I Don’t Understand About America Part 2
Last year I wrote a slightly tongue in cheek post about the things that I didn’t understand about America as a British expat and the post turned out to be pretty popular. It turns out that there are still plenty of things that confuse me about life in the US and so now I present you with part 2. Continue reading “Things I Don’t Understand About America Part 2”
