I went to Salem for Halloween this year with some friends and as predicted it was absolutely manic. The costumes were fantastic and it was great seeing them all and enjoying the atmosphere. It was really really busy and as someone who doesn’t like crowds it was hard to relax but I had a really fun time. There were all kinds of costumes imaginable and even religious people telling us we were all going to hell for celebrating Halloween. I guess I sealed my fate on Saturday night!
The funniest part of my night was when we finally found a place to sit down and eat and the waitress asked for my ID and when I showed her my green card she was totally bewildered. She asked me what it was and why it said the United States of America on it. It’s green and it’s a card, it shouldn’t be too hard to work out! It was a great night overall and I hope you like the photos. 🙂

The most important question here is, did you get your free Satan hug?!
Haha I did and my friend did too! 🙂
I am every single brand of jealous right now. Including the varieties not sold in stores.
Haha it was pretty special! 🙂
Fabulous pictures. I am so glad you shared them!! I can’t someone doesn’t know what a green card is.
Thank you, I’m glad you liked them! I know, it’s green and it’s a card, how hard is it? haha
Oh, a very good Richard costume! But……you’ve got a beard? Just for the costume, right? This looks like an amazing time! Thanks for sharing!
Haha I’ve had a beard for a while, I do intend to get rid of it this week and go back to being clean shaven! I’m glad you liked the costume! 🙂
*Free Hugs From Satan!* Hahaha!
I can’t seem to figure out whom are you dressed as. Oh and I’m not comfortable around crowds too.
Great post and kind of sad too since we don’t have Halloween here and so we obviously don’t celebrate it BUT IT HAS FUN WRITTEN ALL OVER IT. Ugh.
I am dressed as King Richard the Lionheart, its an awful photo of me though! Crowds are awful too, I agree but it was definitely fun at the time. 🙂
Maybe she mistook your Devon accent for Iowan or something? 😉
Great pics, looks like a brilliant night!
Haha the funniest thing was her fancy dress effort was a bikini too. She probably thought I was from France!
Love how your costume plays up your accent.
Got a kick out of the juxtaposition of the X-wing pilot, Richard, and Cleopatra, too.
Thanks! Someone congratulated me on my accent thinking I was using a fake accent to go with the costume! A lot of costume juxtaposition went on, it was fun. 🙂
